Expectations

This page lists what you should know before you try Subverge (read all of it, it's short).

Who it is for

Subverge is an experiment and is not meant for everyday use, so do not daily drive it, don't be stupid. It has only been run in QEMU, and nobody has tried it on real hardware.

The only way to use the system is a stack language, and learn is written for people who already program. Run it before you ask how anything works.

Before you install

install erases whatever drive you give it, so use a disk image and never a disk that holds anything of value.

What it is not

It's not Linux, stop asking.

Subverge has its own kernel, has no POSIX layer and is built on Linux with gcc and nasm.

Support

Subverge is a personal project and has no roadmap (no roadmap means no deadlines, you're welcome). Send bugs and requests to the issue tracker, after you have run learn.
